We offered our company members the opportunity to read one of their favorite folk takes and Marsha Rehns, whom many of you may recall is the narrator in Quorum, was the first to come back with a suggestion: “The Snow Queen,” by Hans Christian Andersen.
Many of you may know that Disney’s “Frozen” is based on this fairy tale, but I think you’ll find this worth a listen, not only from the verve Marsha brings in the telling, but because the story is so very different. One thread that remains, however, is the connection and love between the two siblings.
- Sledge: Any of several types of sled that can be used to transport a person or goods (Scandinavians are often utilitarian)
- Window Leads: parts of a window used to hold panes of glass together actually made of lead.
Rated AD-G for general audiences. Contains a hobgoblin who’s into Olympic-level mischief, mirror shards, roses, good witches, and very chatty crows.
